Vernon Dursley is Harry's uncle, a big, beefy director of the drill firm Grunnings who lives at number four, Privet Drive and prides himself on being perfectly normal.
He has hardly any neck but a very large moustache, and he shares the house with his wife Petunia and their son Dudley. The family can hardly bear the thought that anyone might learn of their link to Petunia's sister and her kind. Odd sights in the street rattle him so badly that he hopes he imagined them, though he does not approve of imagination, and about once a week he glances up from his newspaper to shout that Harry needs a haircut.
