Venomous Tentacula

The Venomous Tentacula is a dangerous magical plant grown at Hogwarts and studied in Herbology. It has a giant eyeless head with fangs, ringed by leaves, and long vines that work like arms and sometimes end in heads of their own. Its bite is highly venomous and can stun or kill, its shoots expel venom, and its spikes are deadly; the juice serves as a less lethal poison. Some forms spit spiky spore like balls at a target. Students handle it practically in their sixth year, and are permitted to swear out loud if one tries to strangle them. The Severing Charm both stuns the plant and cuts its vines. The rule of thumb is never to turn your back on a teething Tentacula.
