Triwizard Maze

For the third task of the Triwizard Tournament, on 24 June 1995, a maze of hedges was grown across the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch. The four champions were brought out to see it a month beforehand, when the hedges were still low, and told what the task would be; Ludo Bagman assured a dismayed Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter that the pitch would be put back exactly as it was afterwards. The object was to reach the Triwizard Cup at the centre, past obstacles and creatures set in the way. A sphinx guards one of the routes: a champion may attempt its riddle and pass if the answer is right, or decline and go round another way, but a wrong answer means an attack.
