The Three Broomsticks Inn is a tiny, crowded Hogsmeade pub, warm, noisy and smoky, where Madam Rosmerta serves foaming tankards of hot Butterbeer to rowdy warlocks and students alike.
Ron and Hermione come back from their first village trip thinking they glimpsed an ogre there, since all sorts turn up. On Harry's own first visit, through a blizzard just before Christmas, Ron goes slightly red ordering the drinks, and Harry finds his drink heats him from the inside. Then Professors McGonagall and Flitwick come in with Hagrid and the Minister for Magic, and Harry ends up hiding under the table.
