Slug Club
Horace Slughorn's invitation-only supper club at Hogwarts, made up of students he judges well connected, already known, or genuinely promising, and whom he keeps in touch with long after they leave.
The Slug Club is an invitation-only dining and social circle run by Horace Slughorn, the Potions master at Hogwarts, outside school hours. Slughorn picks students who are well connected, who already carry some reputation, or who show real promise in a branch of magic, and then cultivates them: small supper parties of around ten with fine food and steered conversation, and grander gatherings to which he invites successful former members. He keeps in touch with those who make the cut long after they have left school, and the arrangement runs both ways, with old members supplying him with news, favours and comforts, and finding doors held open for them in their own careers.
