Rubeus Hagrid
Rubeus Hagrid is the Hogwarts Keeper of Keys and Grounds, a huge man nearly twice as tall as an ordinary one and far wider, with long, wild tangles of black hair and beard.
Rubeus Hagrid comes down out of the night sky over Privet Drive on a borrowed flying motorcycle, carrying the infant Harry Potter, and Albus Dumbledore says he would trust Hagrid with his life. On Harry's birthday he knocks the door of a hut clean off its hinges to deliver Harry's letter himself, with a squashed chocolate birthday cake pulled from deep inside his overcoat. His eyes glint like beetles, he carries a battered pink umbrella, and he will hear no one insult Dumbledore in front of him.
