Portkey
Portkeys are objects, often unobtrusive things a Muggle would take for litter, that carry everyone touching them from one place to another, like the old boot on top of Stoatshead Hill, which is set to leave at a prearranged time.
Mr. Weasley explains that the Ministry has set two hundred of them at chosen points around Britain to bring wizards to the Quidditch World Cup, serving those who cannot or will not Apparate, and a single one can move a large group at once. A fingertip on it is enough. When it activates, the traveller feels a sharp jerk behind the navel, then hurtles forward through roaring wind and whirling colour before slamming down at the far end, where most of the party lands sprawled on the ground.
