A Headmaster of Hogwarts, remembered as the least popular the school ever had, whose portrait hangs in the Headmaster's office.
Phineas Nigellus Black is a former Headmaster of Hogwarts whose portrait hangs in the Headmaster's office. The portrait shows a clever looking wizard with shrewd narrow eyes and a pointed beard, dressed in the green and silver of Slytherin House. He is snide and sarcastic, with little patience for the troubles of the young, whom he finds tedious and self absorbed. He takes real pride in learning for its own sake and thinks poorly of anyone he judges ignorant.
