Dumbledore wants Harry to study Occlumency in private lessons with Snape once a week, because a link between Harry and the Dark Lord seems to let Harry share Voldemort's thoughts and feelings while he sleeps. Snape says that those skilled at it can hide the memories that contradict a lie and so deceive the Dark Lord. The lessons go badly, and Harry feels his scar and his dreams grow worse with each one.
