Nott is a pure-blood wizard of the old Nott family and one of the earliest witches and wizards to follow Lord Voldemort, in his service since around 1965. He is a small, stooped man, widowed, and father to Theodore Nott, a Slytherin student at Hogwarts. Among Voldemort's followers he is conspicuously servile, quick to announce his own loyalty out loud.
