Neville Longbottom

Neville Longbottom loses his toad on the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and spends much of his first year misplacing things. A round-faced boy raised by his formidable grandmother, he arrives at school after a childhood in which the family half-feared no magic was in him at all, and the Sorting Hat places him in Gryffindor. His memory is so unreliable that his grandmother sends him a Remembrall, a glass ball that glows red when its owner has forgotten something, though it cannot say what. Nervous around teachers, devoted to his toad Trevor, and unlucky on a broomstick, Neville keeps getting back up anyway, and his housemates slowly learn there is more to him than nerves.
