Merlin

Merlin is a wizard of the medieval world and a member of King Arthur's court, and the wizarding world still swears by his name and awards the Order of Merlin, which is mentioned in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He attended Hogwarts in one of the school's early generations and was sorted into Slytherin. His charm work earned him the title Prince of Enchanters, and he was an enemy of Morgan le Fay, a Dark witch and King Arthur's half sister. He held that wizardkind should help Muggles and live at peace with them, and he founded the Order of Merlin to promote Muggle rights and to establish rules against using magic on them. His grave has never been found.
