A triple decker purple bus that collects stranded witches and wizards, hailed by holding out a wand hand.
Its conductor is Stan Shunpike, a young man in a purple uniform, and its driver is Ernie Prang, an elderly wizard in very thick glasses. A ride to London costs eleven Sickles, with hot chocolate or a hot water bottle and toothbrush for a few Sickles more. Harry finds no seats aboard, only brass bedsteads lit by candles beside curtained windows, and Stan says Muggles never notice the bus at all.
