The Killing Curse is cast with the words Avada Kedavra, one of the three curses known as the Unforgivable Curses.
The Killing Curse strikes with a blinding flash of green light and a rushing noise, like something huge and unseen passing through the air, and it leaves its target lifeless without a mark on it. One teacher calls it the last and worst, and by his account there is no countercurse and no way of blocking it. It also needs great magical strength behind it, so that a class of students saying the words at him would barely give him a nosebleed. Casting it on another person carries a life sentence.
