Japan
A country with its own Ministry of Magic and its own school, Mahoutokoro, where cherry wood wands carry particular honour.
Japan has a wizarding community of its own, governed by a Japanese Ministry of Magic and schooled at Mahoutokoro, where a wand of cherry wood is a mark of particular honour. Quidditch arrived by accident, carried there by Hogwarts pupils blown off course while trying to circle the globe on unsuitable broomsticks, and the national side has since played in the World Cup with a signature move called the Tsunami, all spin and a little karate. Most of this comes from J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World writing rather than the seven novels, along with the game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, in which a Hogwarts pupil's family live in Japan hoping to observe an Oni.
How far into Harry Potter have you read?
