The Inquisitorial Squad is a band of Hogwarts students who back the Ministry, hand-picked by Umbridge, and Malfoy wears its small silver I on his robes.
Draco Malfoy, one of its members, explains that the Squad can dock House points even from fellow prefects, and at once takes points from Hermione, Ernie and Harry, the last purely because he dislikes him. Umbridge warns Harry that her Squad is opening and reading every owl going into or out of the castle. When Fred and George stage their exit in the entrance hall, the Squad watches smugly and then closes in as the twins take to the air.
