Hogwarts Castle
Hogwarts Castle is the home of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a vast castle of many turrets and towers with a hundred and forty-two staircases.
Hogwarts Castle stands high on a cliff above a lake and looms over anyone approaching by water. A curtain of ivy hangs across a broad gap in the cliff face, and behind it a dark tunnel runs beneath the castle to an underground harbor of rocks and pebbles. From the harbor a passage winds up through the rock to damp grass in the castle's shadow, where a flight of stone steps leads up to a huge oak front door.
Inside the entrance, a marble staircase rises toward the corridors above. Greenhouses stand behind the castle, and a small wooden house sits across the grounds at the forbidden forest's edge.
