George Weasley

George Weasley steps onto Platform Nine and Three Quarters in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as one half of the Weasley twins, helping a lost Harry Potter heave his trunk onto the train. He and his identical twin Fred are third-year Gryffindors when Harry arrives, older brothers of Ron, and the school's most dedicated jokers, swapping identities to confuse their own mother and treating school rules as friendly suggestions. On the Quidditch pitch George plays Beater for Gryffindor, one of a matched pair the team counts itself lucky to have, quick with a bat and quicker with a comeback. Of the two, George is generally the marginally quieter twin, though only someone who knows them both well could say which is which.
