The Gaunt Shack is a tiny, tumbledown cottage half hidden among dark trees near Little Hangleton, the home of Marvolo Gaunt and his children Morfin and Merope in a memory Harry visits.
Its walls are mossy, tiles have fallen from the roof, and a dead snake hangs nailed to the front door. Inside are three cramped, filthy rooms where the son croons to a live adder in Parseltongue and the father bellows at his daughter. Bob Ogden of the Ministry calls to deal with magic used in front of a Muggle.
