Garrick Ollivander

Garrick Ollivander is the wandmaker of Diagon Alley, proprietor of the shop that carries his family name, and the man who sells Harry Potter his first wand in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He is held to be the best wandmaker in the world, and a great many British witches and wizards carry a wand of his making. Harry finds him an old man with pale silvery eyes and white skin, working with a magical tape measure that takes a customer's dimensions on its own. His memory for his craft is exact, down to the details of every wand he has ever sold, and the harder a customer is to fit, the better he likes the work.
