Flourish and Blotts is a Diagon Alley bookshop, the place Harry goes for his Hogwarts schoolbooks, with shelves stacked right up to the ceiling.
Its stock runs from leather-bound volumes as big as paving stones to silk-covered books no larger than postage stamps, with others full of strange symbols and a few entirely blank, and Hagrid all but drags Harry away from a book of curses. When Gilderoy Lockhart holds a signing there, a crowd of witches jams the doors beneath a banner across the upper windows, and a brawl between Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy sends spellbooks thundering down.
