The Fidelius Charm hides a place, a thing or a piece of information by concealing the secret itself inside a living soul. The witch or wizard who holds it is called the Secret-Keeper, and no one else can find what has been hidden unless the Secret-Keeper chooses to tell them. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban describes it as an immensely complex spell, and it is one of the oldest and most difficult in existence.
