Felix Felicis

Felix Felicis, known as Liquid Luck, is a potion that makes the drinker lucky for a set stretch of time, during which whatever they attempt comes off. Zygmunt Budge invented it in the sixteenth century and called it the crowning achievement of his career. Brewing takes six months and goes disastrously wrong if mishandled, and the result is meant to be taken sparingly: in excess it brings on giddiness, recklessness and dangerous overconfidence, and in quantity it is poisonous. It is banned from Quidditch and every other organised competition, along with all other forms of cheating.
