It has been a standard textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since 1927, and it sits on the first-year shopping list in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley sells a copy for two Galleons. Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry set it for fifth years as well, on Eulalie Hicks's instruction, by 1932.
