Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley twists and turns out of sight, lined with shops and busy with people doing their shopping. Stacks of cauldrons in every size sit outside one shop in copper, brass, pewter and silver, and others sell robes, telescopes, strange silver instruments, quills, parchment, potion bottles and globes of the moon. Eeylops Owl Emporium is dark inside and full of soft hooting, and one window displays broomsticks.

The Apothecary smells of bad eggs and rotted cabbages, with jars of herbs and bright powders on its walls. The wizarding bank, a snowy white building with burnished bronze doors, towers over the smaller shops around it. Ollivanders, the wand shop, is narrow and shabby, with peeling gold letters over the door and a single wand resting on a faded purple cushion behind the glass.
