Cure for Boils

Boils, including the sort raised by the Pimple Jinx, come off with this potion, which is elementary enough to be among the first things Hogwarts students brew: first-years make it in Potions. The recipe is in Magical Drafts and Potions, which is on the first-year book list. Crushed snake fangs go in first and are left to brew, then horned slugs, and the cauldron must come off the fire before the porcupine quills are added. Done properly, pink smoke rises from the surface. Add the quills while the cauldron is still on the heat and it melts, fills the room with a horrid smell, and turns the spilled potion into something that raises vicious boils on any skin it touches.
