Cornelius Fudge

Cornelius Fudge holds the office of Minister for Magic, having risen to it from the post of Junior Minister in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. He is a portly little man with rumpled grey hair, recognisable at a distance by the lime-green bowler hat he wears or carries and the pinstriped cloak that usually goes with it. In his early years in office he is bumptious and good-natured, readier to smooth a crisis over than to solve it, and he writes to Albus Dumbledore for advice often enough that plenty of people take him for a well-meaning bungler. It also falls to him to warn the Muggle Prime Minister whenever wizarding trouble looks likely to spill over into the Muggle world.
