The Cloak of Invisibility is a garment that makes its wearer vanish, and the one that comes to Harry belonged, he is told, to his father.
Harry's cloak arrives as an unsigned Christmas present, a shining, silvery cloth that feels like water woven into fabric. Ron, awed, says such cloaks are really rare and valuable, and when Harry throws it on, his body vanishes from the mirror. A note in narrow, loopy writing he has never seen says the time has come for it to be returned and tells him to use it well.
