Celestina Warbeck
A Welsh singer, born in 1917 and schooled at Hogwarts, whose songs are a fixture of the Wizarding Wireless Network.
Celestina Warbeck is a Welsh singer and the most popular voice in wizarding music, a fixture of the Wizarding Wireless Network whose songs play over the wireless in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. She was born on 18 August 1917 to a wizard father, a minor functionary in the Department of Muggle Relations, and a Muggle mother who had failed as an actress. Spellbound magazine ran an article on her gifts when she was about ten. She attended Hogwarts from 1928 to 1936 and was sorted into Gryffindor, her mother writing to the school throughout to press for a theatre club, a choir and dancing classes. She performs with a chorus of backing banshees, and her best known songs include A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love and You Charmed the Heart Right Out of Me. Her audience runs older, drawn to the grandstanding style and the power of her voice.
