British Auror Office

The British Auror Office, also called Auror Headquarters, is the base of the Aurors of Great Britain and one of the main divisions of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic. Aurors are the closest thing the wizarding world has to police detectives, and the office exists to catch Dark witches and wizards. It is run by the Head of the Auror Office. The headquarters is a cluttered open area broken into cubicles and loud with talk and laughter. The work is not all criminal casework: a clause added to the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy in 1750 made each country's magical government responsible for concealing magical creatures within its borders, so Aurors patrol hidden habitats often enough that few finish a career without meeting a poacher. The office fought Lord Voldemort and his followers throughout the first wizarding war, from 1970 to 1981.
