Bloody Baron

The Bloody Baron is the ghost of Slytherin House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and he attended the school in the founders' time, sorted into the house he now haunts. He appears in a curly powdered wig and clothes closer to the seventeenth century than to his own, a sword at his side and bloodstains across his robes, and he speaks in a hoarse whisper. He is hot-tempered and unused to being contradicted, and most of the castle keeps well clear of him; the other Hogwarts ghosts are no keener on his company than the students are, though he keeps civil terms with Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington. Peeves the poltergeist is frightened of him, and the Baron has no tolerance for Peeves in return. His house pride runs deep, and through Slytherin's run of six consecutive House Cup wins he was, by Sir Nicholas's account, unbearable.
