Armando Dippet

Armando Dippet is a wizard who serves as Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the 1940s into the 1960s, holding the post before Albus Dumbledore. He has brown eyes and, in his younger years, a thick brown beard; by the end of his tenure he is nearly bald and somewhat feeble. His portrait in the Headmaster's office hides none of that age but presents him as a grave, dignified figure, with bushy eyebrows, a well-kept white beard, a long curled silver wig and flowing robes of gold and midnight blue. Dippet is proud, formal and slow to trust, and he holds Hogwarts above almost everything, including his own staff; Dumbledore, then his Head of Transfiguration, is one of the few people he confides in. He runs the school as a disciplinarian, and puts Professor Silvanus Kettleburn, whom he considers reckless, on no fewer than sixty-two periods of probation.
