Ranker is the closest thing Hardcore Leveling Warrior has to a job title for the best-known. Rankers are the strongest players in Lucid Adventure, sorted under Giga's Ranking System, where Giga scouts hand out the numbers, so that a rank attaches to a name and follows it everywhere. In a game whose standing bleeds into the real world, that number is worth a fortune: rankers shoot commercials like celebrities, their faces end up on products, Ranker Milk included, and their fame is genuine mass-market fame. It cuts both ways. Rankers are so public that breakdowns of their abilities circulate freely on the internet, meaning every admirer is also a potential opponent doing homework. The power gap is real, with high rankers stringing together combo skills that would exhaust ordinary users, and the climb toward a rank is one of the game's great obsessions.
