Mordecai

Mordecai is a rat man who answers the chained door of a tutorial guild. Carl is immediately reminded of Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Mordecai grumbles that nobody tells him anything. The newsletter that came every few cycles no longer arrives, which he puts down to budget cuts, and he is caught off guard, having expected no opening for another two years. He speaks the goblin language and shares a laugh in it with the goblins outside.

Mordecai holds that rules are rules. He will not unchain the door while mobs stand directly outside it, although he does tell Carl that loot boxes are opened from the Awards and Boxes tab of the inventory menu, which stays locked until the tutorial is done.
