Madre de Aguas is a level 125 city boss, a massive snake that rises some 17 or 18 feet high from its coils. She has the power to command all the creatures of her area.
She draws on a local legend with many versions. In its snake form the legend usually tells of a giant boa that guards the freshwater places of Cuba and directs local creatures to protect the land and its plants and animals. The tellings disagree on the details. In some she lives in rivers and in others the ocean, and she can be gentle or entirely murderous.
