Hellik is a god who is also the red second sun, which shines about eight hours a day and makes the heat intense.
Hellik follows the other sun across the sky, as one local tells it, and catches up with it four hours before dark. A storm then drives Hellik away, and the other sun sinks for a two-hour rest before the round begins again.
That same local advises against being out of doors while both suns are up. He also speaks of the dark months, when half of the hours Hellik spends in the sky each day fall in what he calls the blowing season.
