Tyekanik is a Sardaukar Bashar in the service of House Corrino and the chief military man of the Princess Wensicia. At her order he took up the warrior religion of the Fremen, the idea being that the Corrinos should understand the people they are dealing with, and he found it fitted a soldier's habits better than he expected. He serves with reservations he keeps to himself, since duty to the House comes first.
