When House Atreides takes over Arrakis, the housekeeping at the Imperial Residence in Arrakeen is run by a Fremen, and she is one of the first Fremen any of them meets face to face. The Shadout Mapes holds Bene Gesserit prophecy and the sacred crysknife in deep reverence, and she came to the Lady Jessica hoping to settle for herself whether this was the woman the Fremen legends speak of. She is cautious and watchful in service, alert to what moves inside the household as well as outside it.
