Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen

Feyd-Rautha attends a meeting in his uncle's study on Giedi Prime, where the Baron and Piter de Vries lay out the campaign House Harkonnen is mounting against Duke Leto Atreides. The plotting ranges over the Atreides' move from Caladan to Arrakis, the cities of Arrakeen and Carthag, and the people around the Duke, from Paul Atreides and the Lady Jessica to Thufir Hawat and Dr. Yueh.

He comes to the meeting sullen, there to observe and to learn how House politics is conducted. As the talk goes on he grows more engaged, because he recognizes what the occasion actually is: the Baron is grooming him as an heir, and the campaign against the Atreides is part of his education.
