Alma Mavis Taraza

Alma Mavis Taraza is Mother Superior of the Bene Gesserit. She and Darwi Odrade were girls together at the Bene Gesserit School, close enough to shorten each other's names to Dar and Tar, and the friendship survived the rest of it. As a Reverend Mother she worked as a breeding mistress, chosen for her beauty and sent to the most difficult of the men whose genetic material the Sisterhood wanted. As Mother Superior she is a calculating strategist and a natural devil's advocate who trusts almost no one, and she runs long plans whose real shape she keeps to herself.
