The Laughing Mirror was made by Maerlyn out of the magic of the Prim, and made for one purpose: to throw back a distorted reflection of the White, so that whatever is good in it comes back looking hideous, stupid and ridiculous. Maerlyn broke the mirror into millions of shards and scattered them through the whole of the world, so that the pieces would go on reflecting a false image of the Dark Tower back at itself.
