Roy Depape is one of the three men who call themselves the Big Coffin Hunters, riding with Reynolds and old, limping Jonas.
Susan Delgado tells a stranger she meets on the road that Mayor Thorin has hired Roy Depape and his companions as private guards of his house, answerable to none but Thorin or perhaps Rimer. She takes them for hard boys and wonders why they are in town at all. Depape idles about Mayor's House and the Travellers' Rest, where he has no love at all for the simple boy who cleans up.
