The Queen O'Green Days is Mid-World's goddess of spring, kept chiefly by farmers, patroness of lambs and chicks and calves and foals and kids, and protector of new growth and of small children. She is shown as a young woman in a gown of green leaves, crowned with fruit and flowers. Her worship once stood at the centre of the fertility festivals and is thinner now across Mid-World, though it is still marked at the Fair Days of Wide-Earth and Sowing with baskets of sharproot, gourds and winterberries left out for her favour. Like the other gods of Mid-World she loves a riddle, and the riddling at the Wide Earth fair is held to wake her from her winter sleep.
