The folk of the Fagonard, called Mudmen or Plant Men for the mud and green growth they wear head to foot.
The Mudmen are the folk of the Fagonard, a swamp of standing water and scattered tufts of solid ground. They are called Mudmen, or Plant Men, for the coat of mud and green growth they wear head to foot, which makes them hard to tell from the swamp itself. They keep to the far shore and watch what comes into their water. Tallman leads them, and Helmsman speaks for them.
