Mordred Deschain

Belonging to the closing movement of The Dark Tower series, Mordred Deschain enters in Song of Susannah, the sixth book, and figures above all in The Dark Tower, the seventh. The surname is the oldest in the saga: Deschain is the name of Roland's house, the line of gunslingers descended from Arthur Eld that ruled in Gilead before the world moved on. The series follows Roland, last of that line, across a ruined Mid-World toward the Dark Tower, the axis of all worlds, and its final volumes draw the long threads of the quest together. Mordred stands among the figures those last books bring onto the road.
