Manni
The Manni are a plain-living religious sect of Mid-World, cloaked and bearded like Quakers of another world, devoted to travel between worlds.
The Manni are a settlement of them living near the farming town of Calla Bryn Sturgis. They are a religious folk of Mid-World, resembling the plain sects of our own world: the men wear long blue cloaks and long beards, live apart under strict rule, and call their god the Over. What sets them apart in Mid-World is their calling as travelers between worlds. The Manni hold that other worlds than this one exist, with the Dark Tower the axis of them all, and they seek passage between worlds as an act of devotion, using plumb bobs, magnets, and long discipline.
