Hart Thorin is the aging Mayor of Hambry in Wizard and Glass, a foolish, grasping old man of little real power who arranges through her aunt to take sixteen-year-old Susan Delgado as his gilly.
Hart Thorin holds the mayor's office of Hambry. He is an old man, nearly fifty years senior to the girl he covets, all popping joints, nervous laughter, and appetite, and he serves as Mayor and Chief Guard of the Barony of Mejis while wielding very little of its actual power; most of that rests with his chancellor, Kimba Rimer. Thorin has arranged through her aunt to take young Susan Delgado as his gilly, a compact dressed in old custom that most of Hambry finds easier to toast than to examine. He keeps his great house at Seafront, above the bay.
