Garlan is a far western barony of Mid-World known chiefly by rumor, a land of tobacco, poisons, and dragon stories that travelers speak of but never reach.
Garlan lies far to the west, a barony spoken of in travelers' talk. It is a distant country by every account that reaches the main road: a tobacco-growing land, a source of subtle poisons, supposed home of the Grand Featherex, and the setting of old stories about dragons. The elderly of the river country say its people are dark-skinned; men who claim hard pasts sometimes claim they earned them in Garlan. It exists as rumor at the edge of a world that has moved on, the kind of place stories come from.
