Doorway Cave
Doorway Cave, once the Cave of Voices, sits in the hills above Calla Bryn Sturgis in Wolves of the Calla, a cave where a voice-filled pit mocks visitors and a freestanding door stands in the dark.
Doorway Cave lies high in the arid hills north of the farming town of Calla Bryn Sturgis. The folk of the Calla once called it the Cave of Voices, for the pit at its rear: out of that blackness come voices that speak to whoever enters, wearing the tones of the hearer's own dead and absent, saying what the hearer least wants said. By then the cave holds something else as well, the freestanding door from which its newer name comes. Caves, voices, and doors between worlds all belong to the deep furniture, in which the Dark Tower stands at the axis of every where and when.
