Some doors in Mid-World open on another place, or another world.
Doors in Mid-World are not always only doors. Some of them open on another place entirely, and some open on another world. The two sorts do not behave alike. The magical ones, which are the rarer, carry a traveller both ways and leave nothing wrong with him afterward. The ones built by the Old Ones run one way only, and they decay as the years pass, so that using a worn one can leave a person sick, and in time it may stop working at all.
